The indian soldiers however claim that the Pakistani soldiers were walking and trespassing on Indian land. The two countries have waged three full wars since 1947, when the two countries were split apart due to religious tensions. 3 pakistani soldiers and 5 indian soldiers were killed.

Current Events

Current Events

Sri Lanka. After being in a state of emergency for 28 years, Sri Lanka finally emerged out and declared to be back in a safe position. However, the country refuses to release 1200 members of the Tamil Tigers Separatist movement that put them into a state of emergency. Representatives say that though the country no longer declares a state of emergency, everything remains to be the same as before, and there is no reason to release the captured tamil tigers. The ban on the Tamil Tigers is said to go on eternally. The UN is now starting to look at the considerable war crimes from both sides of the fight, and will talk about this at the next Geneva convention. The end of the urgency has come before the National Human Rights month.

Current Events

This week, Muammar Gadhafi was finally removed from power after months of protest. The current rebel-government has been identified by many as a legitimate entity, but the African Union still fails to recognize the government. The AU, which was created partly because of the efforts of Gadhafi, so one can see why the AU’s loyalties lie with Gadhafi. Though Gadhafi was not the best of rulers, the African continent approved of him because of his pro-African mindset, putting Africa as his main concern rather than his arab alliances. Though Gadhafi stopped contributing a lot to the AU, Libya’s missing portion could easily have been replaced by other countries like South Africa. In fact, South Africa has ganged up with the AU to shoot down NATO’s aggressive support and airstrikes on Libya. South African officials have gone as far as to call for criminal charges on NATO and have tried to stall the U.S ‘s attempts to unfreeze Libyan assets. It seems obvious that the African community will take a while to accept the new kid on the bloc.

Current Events

Current Events

The state of health of most Somalian citizens has went from being under-fed to being in a near-death situation. The country, with millions of people of people starving, has been considered a failed state ever since a 1991 civil war left the country with no government. Somalia has been controlled by terrorist groups like Al-Quaeda since the civil war. Violent outbreaks occur throughout the country, and delivering food to the malnourished is also very hard. Reports show that within the next 4 months, over 750,000 people could die in a drought filled area. 58 % of the population is starving, which is doublIe the amount at which a famine is declared. The children, often from poor neighborhoods, were told that the bombs would spare them and after their mission, they would find a “land of milk and honey.” The President criticized the idea of using children as bombers, though suicide-bombing is generally not a respectable deed, as children are not given a chance to think about what they are doing and they only see a false Taliban future.

Chrome OS

Here's another new google product that will be released to the public next year. This product, however, will not be free. Why? Well it isn't another awesome online product, it's actually a netbook that will take you straight to Google's collection of online suites. Need to write some notes? Well, with a chrome book, you won't head straight for word or notepad, you'll head for Google Docs. Google hopes that storing everything on the cloud( the web) will appeal to users, and is a major opportunity for Google to boost their advertising. Since the laptops rely solely on the internet, google has inbuilt a 3g internet chip from verizon to fill in the gap when you're not on wifi. Using a chromebook for simple things like documents, a Gps through Google Maps, youtube, etc. is faster than other web devices with the exception of only smartphones as it takes only 10 seconds to boot. Speed comes with it's setbacks though. The Chrome OS system currently only has it's basic suites, but developers must be working somewhere to bring more apps to the laptop. The netbook also doesn't have any usb ports, so people can't connect their iPhones or Mp3 players, or whatever they use. There is no cd drive either, but it does come with a webcam(duh). Google is currently giving laptops, called CR48'S to test users in it's pilot program to advertise the laptop and find errors in it's system. The laptops are set to come out next year.
To read everything I just told you again, go to http://www.google.com/chromeos/#utm_campaign=en&utm_source=en_us-ha-na-us-sk-launch&utm_medium=ha&utm_term=cr-48

Games

So, if you don't know it, I make games. This blog post is linked to my buzz, so everyone who is following me will probably read this. That means that there are some lazy people here( I'm not pointing fingers here). So, those who are lazy can continue to be lazy( That is if you have any interest I reading my post). Okay, I have to start focusing now. My first blog post was about how I thought the writer(s) of Shrek 3 were... let's say they were a little too imaginative. Here's a quote from the post. "Sometimes a director can go too far.The story is just streched.EX.Shrek 3 .
shrek 1&2 were great but the third seemed to put an end to it.The story got
a little too out of control.Shrek a king, prince charming taking over, baby ogres & dragon mules?get my point." Actually, that wasn't a quote, but the whole post itself. Short, huh. Ok, ok, focus. I briefly talked about how I thought that movie, Shrek 3, is well, in middle school terms, an EPIC FAIL. I am guessing that the movie was targeted for kids about 11, or 12. These kids would have been maybe 6 when the first movie came out, as it came out in 2001, and the latest movie came out in 2007( there is another movie, but it is not out yet. It's title is Shrek 4ever?). Though I wasn't quite 11 when the movie came out, I was still old enough to see the over-creativity in the movie. Having summarized my thoughts on the subject, let us move on to the movies that I will address in this post. Today, I was at home, watching National treasure 2 for the first time( I know, I know... it came out a long time ago), and found that it was pretty much the same as Nation Treasure 1. It was still something that I could watch to pass the time while doing homework, but it wasn't something for which I would have went to the theaters. The story is almost exactly the same, just with different location, clues, and names. It's like a science experiment, with the locations, etc... as the variables that are switched out. The only variation is that science experiments produce different results, while these "mystery" movies have one product. One second-rate, inferior, and unsatisfactory movie. These movies( such as National treasures, The mummies, 1,2,and 3, Journey to the Center of the Earth, etc...) are, again, watchable, but are not really award-winning movies. Sure, some of these movies have great graphics( I consider 2012 part of this type of movie), but the story line is pathetic. Both the national treasures have the same emotions. Think about the part in National Treasure where Nicholas Cage lights this rock, I guess, and the fire spreads to the whole room, revealing a huge hall of Egyptian artifacts. Now, think about the 2nd National Treasure. There is a part where Nicholas Cage lights this rock, I guess, and the fire spreads to the whole( wait for it...) city. That bears a striking resemblance to each other, and that really takes away the charm of the picture. The director and writer have essentially painted the same picture changing the huge room with a partially underground city of gold. City of gold... Did that remind you of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the crystal skull? The indiana Jones trilogy( skipping the first movie) is much better than the movies listed above, but it uses the same algorithm, with a few alterations. The thing is, these movies just aren't meant to be blockbusters, though some happen to appeal, and are rare exceptions. These movies also bring massive disappointment. Last year, in history class, we watched Mummy 3 as it was in china and we were studying china. We used up our accumulated (fun ) time to watch the movie. It turned out to be another EPIC FAIL. There was no real context to China, and it ended up to be just plain... bad. These movies also, happen to have actors such as Nicholas Cage or Brendan Fraser. They aren't bad actors, but they seem to never venture out of the Mystery/Fantasy/Adventure movie making industry. Looks like don't have writers block now, do I? Prepare for another segment on movies later

Google Earth Snapshot

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_QZpVt6fUq4o/S34J9p39xmI/AAAAAAAAABg/1Nu0bDJnhPg/s320/Picture+2.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5439796354727396962" />

Here is me in my F-16 flying over my house. Obviously, I don't have a real F-16. I fly in Google Earth Flight Simulator. If you want to fly too, download Google Earth 5(if you already haven't) and go to Tools. Here you will see Tour, GPS, and Google Flight Simulator. Click Google Flight Simulator. There are 2 planes you can choose, a F-16, which cruises at 400 mph, and maxes out at 1010 mph, or a biplane( the s-22?) which cruises at 150 mph, and maxes out at about 400 mph. You can choose a airport from the choice , or you can go somewhere on Google earth, and then fly from there using Current View. Anyways, back to my flights. Before, I was trying to learn how to land. Back then, I used the keyboard to navigate. On the keyboard, up is down, down is up, and left and right are left and right. I would just go straight, because turning would send me into a nose-down spiral. Now, I use the mouse. The controls are pretty much the same( move mouse up for down, move mouse down for up etc...) but they have much more control. Turning is MUCH easier than on the keyboard. To turn, I just need to move my mouse left/right and keep the mouse in that position until I have completed my satisfied turn. Since the controls are so much easier now, I can navigate around the planet like a pro. I have flown through the Himalayas, flown twisted and turned my way through the Grand Canyon ( that too at 800 mph) and explored parts of the bay. Though, as easy as it is to navigate with the mouse, it is harder to land. Since I am usually flying around the SFO Bay Area, I have put a thumbpin on every single airport. SFO International, Oakland Iternational, Palo Alto, an abandoned( i think) Alameda airport, a Hayward exclusive airport, ... and of course, our neighborhood Livermore Municipal Airport. I can easily find these airports as well as my home, but I can't land at any of these airports. I take about 20 minutes to get my altitude down, my speed down to 300 mph, and to find a airport, but most always I crash. The problem is that when I come down, the plane bounces back up. Then, eventually I run into a hill. Another problem is that as soon as I touch the ground I crash. The last major problem is that I take so much time getting down at the right speed, and angle that I miss the runway. Once, I was trying to land at the SFO airport , and missed. I immediately started turning the plane around. But at the speed that I was going at, when I stopped turning, I was hovering over the Half Moon Bay airport. In the same way, I was trying to land at the Oakland airport. I missed, and this time I turned around and saw the San Jose Airport to the North. One other problem I face is that I have so man airport thumb pins around San Francisco, that I mistook San Jose airport to be a thumb pin to be my own home. For this reason, turned around, and realized I was traveling through the mountains behind Livermore. At that point I saw my real home. Eventually, I turned around, but I was still somewhat lost even though I'd flown through the area about 20 times. At some time I got bored of earth, and clicked on the planet icon on the top of the window, and traveled to mars. From there, I went to Olympus Mons, and flew off, some 200,000 feet from the ground. Unfortunately, my keyboard and mouse had jammed( only for Google Earth), just like they had with My cousin. Because of this, I ended up hurdling to the martian floor. All in all, Google Earth Flight Simulator is a pretty good pastime, for a free google earth add-on. It, like other products, is a great Google product. (I'm sorry if your eyes are tired by now from reading this)

2010 Vancouver Olympics

I feel that it was just a few months ago that I was watching the 2008 Summer Olympics at Beijing. Now the running event have been replaces by speed skating. Lately, I have been trying to watch the Olympic Games. Skating( figure and speed) seem like good sports, while other contact sports such as Ice Hockey don't have the same appeal. However, my favorite so far is Curling.(For any of those out there who have played shuffleboard, this pretty much the same thing on ice.) In this game, there are "stones" which are ,well, stones which players have to slid across shaven ice. Meanwhile, while the stone is being thrown, other members of the team come in front of the stone with brushes and try to brush the ice in front of the stone out of the way. This can be used for doing two things. One is to speed up the stone, or to "curl" or slowly curve the path of the stone. The court that the Olympic sport is played on a narrow rectangular shape. One both ends, there is a circle with 3 rings, and one tiny circle in the middle. Though there are two circles, in one game, only one circle is played on. The objective of the game is to get your team's stones closest to the tiny circle. Of course, stones are also used to block paths and protect the other team from knocking your stone out of the desired position. The most recent match I watched( also my second match) was today between U.S and Switzerland. Both were pretty good teams. I switched the TV on at the 8th end( by the way, there are 10 ends, each having about 6 turns for each team, and each team has to finish 10 ends in 73 minutes, but they play on the same court) and the score was 5-4 in favor of the U.S. I like Switzerland so it was a neutral game for me. Either of the outcomes was fine for me. One end ended and at the start of the 9th end the U.S started leading the game 6-4. Another end passed, and the score was now 5-6 and switzerland had gained a point. Now the tenth end was starting, and the pressure was on for the both the Swiss team to tie or to win, and for the U.S team to maintain their 1 point lead. Switzerlad had gained a point and had tied the score, making it 6-6. Both teams were forced into a sudden death, end 11. Eventually at the end of the end11, both teams had a rock in the inner ring. From above, and most probably from the player's level, both rocks were a equal distance from the center. Out came the measuring ref. She checked the U.S rock. It was about 3 of their measuring units away. She moved to the Swiss rock. It pushes the boundary. The Switzerland team won! I, as I told you above, was pretty happy( I would have been pretty happy for U.S too) . The Swiss team was really happy, having pulled their team out of near disaster, while the U.S team looked sad and depressed since they were playing such a good game with a 2 point lead and ended up losing in overtime. So far, as the 17 of February, U.S. has 4 gold medals,3 silver, and 5 bronze for a total of 12 medals. U.S. has the most medals followed by Germany with 8

iPad

I guess I'm somewhat late to publish a post on the iPad since everyone seems to have already written something about it. The iPad has hit the ground with determined to keep it's foot on brake. Most blogs that I have read have given disappointing posts about the iPad's failure. This includes the usual points: there's no flash, and because of this most sites don't work; no usb port; no disk drive etc... But my thoughts are not quite the same. So what if you can't browse the internet that much? It is still a e-reader. It has the App store. It has a touch screen. Its got email. It can browse the news. It has a good quality screen. You can watch sports. It has keynote( presentation software). Let's value this stuff. E-reader- about 260$ , app store( we'll give the price of an itouch, since that's the cheapest price for something with App store) - about 180$ , keynote- about 50$ sports/ internet- we'll give the price of the netbook minus flash and other stuff ; about 50 dollars. That is more than the price of the initial iPad. About 540$. But this doesn't include the fact that it is about 1.5 pounds, and half and inch thick. It's as if it isn't there at all. Plus, it's a lot easier to use the app store's 140,000 apps on the iPad because of its bigger screen. And of course you can look through photos and navigate with the flick of a finger. The iPad may have gotten bad reports from others, but I have to say, it seems pretty good to me. When you are buying a kindle or nook for 260, throw in another 230 and get internet, app store, video, and so much more. What's wrong with that? (I'm not being sarcastic).

Google Wave

It's been a looong time since I last posted a blog. That's because I have had nothing to write about. In fact, this blog has no significance to it. To go further, this blog has some significance, but not that much since I'm piggy backing on my friend's blog. Now Here's my main point. Google Waves. currently, it is not out. But, thy have released videos about it. There is a 80 minute video, as well as a 8-9 minute video. Google Wave is described as an email, which it is. But it has more features. Maybe you send an email to a group of people. If someone wants to comment on it, they go to the part they want to comment on, and write something. Instead of forwarding the email back to everyone and making a change in the forward, you are just writing on the original email. When the sender or other people see it, it will say who wrote what on the "wave". So it can be used as a blog. It can also be on a blog. Right from your wave account, you can post it on a blog, or twitter. On the wave, you can place a google map picture, showing where a party might be, etc... . You can also read a wave in time order. This means in order of the different changes made to the wave. Lastly, during chat, you can talk in different languages. This is because of "robots". One person can write in french, which will translate to say, spanish for the other person, and french back. Cool, huh.

The Revolutionary Times Newspaper

Contents

Contents

Interview with Thomas PAine
During my interview with Mr.Paine at his farm in N.Y. , I asked him to tell me a little about himself. O. Box 129012
Boston, Massachusetts
Patriot letter

Living in the colonies is no better than Britain. It’s worse. Coming to the colonies was supposed to give us a better life. It was wrong, it was all wrong. There is hardly any food . The Redcoats closed up the harbor to stop any goods from coming in. Even if we manage to get hold of some bread those blasted lobsterbacks burst in, looking for something to eat. They came a week ago looking for wood. Took away anything they saw. Even took my Dad’s compass. He had taken care of it since he was a child. He received it from my grandfather. All the wood from my house was taken away. The wood from the chairs, the doors, and the whole village that I had built. I try to shove them away whenever they come. I joined the army a month ago thinking it might earn me some money . It didn’t work out . I hardly get paid $10 ‘dollars’ a day. Washington thought that the new dollars would help him recruit soldiers to join the army. Everybody wants some new dollars now. They’re useless. They only make the inflation in the colonies go up. There is no point in fighting. It only makes those British scums more mad. Even if we get free, Britain isn’t going to trade with us. Why would they? Even William Pitt, who believes in our Independence wouldn’t be able to make them trade. He lost his spot in the Parliament. Those British have lost their minds.
This all wouldn’t have happened if they let us protect ourselves. First of all, they came here and start recruiting people to fight with them during the French and Indian war .We could have fought ourselves. Then, when we started moving for more land, they tell us that we can’t move there. We fought for the land. We have every right to settle down there. Why should the British stop us? It’s our land and our choice . We can choose where we want to go. The British don’t need to tell us what to do. I think the British are just trying to take charge.
That’s what the Declaration of Independence stated to them. The Declaration of Independence states that the colonies were big enough to separate from the mother country. It helps in stating our position in the war. It is a fair manuscript that defends the colonists thoughts on the placement of taxes on tea and other products. I can’t believe the King(s) put taxes on products.
King George has never made a just decision in his life. He is stuck on doing what his great-grandfather and grandfather didn’t do. He believes that they ruined have Britain by giving Parliament power. His parliament itself has ruined Britain. Was it not during his rule that the stamp act and all those other taxes were placed on goods going to the colonies. The parliament is an unjust congress. The king can pick whoever he wants to be in the parliament. They don’t have to be fair. Whenever I walk through the streets of Boston, all I hear are insults instead of the compliments I should be receiving for protecting my country. Leading a life in the colonies is hard especially if you’re a British soldier. The tavern, I live in is small and cramped. Everyone around me hates me. Everyday I have to stand through fights and raid houses for food. It isn’t easy. We have to break doors open and pull them out of the doorway. It is so very cold over here. We hardly collect enough firewood to last a day. I’m not getting paid enough for going through all of this. All I get is five pounds a month. I know I should be ashamed of saying this but, unlike all the other soldiers, I’ve not been paying the 2 pound tax to the parliament. The only reason I’m here is because of the debt that Britain has accumulated. They transferred me so that I can help keep order in the colonies. Those colonists won’t pay the 1 cent tariff on British Goods. After all, we were protecting them. They can hardly handle a gun and how many colonists are there? Some 300 men with no army expertise versus 3000 French men and countless numbers of Indians. They had no chance. We came to help them. We saved their lives. Would you rather lose your house or would you pay a 1 cent tax ? Even if some of them could handle a gun, they would be no match for a whole army. If they could have fought the French men, we would be compliments from the King. The colonists are part of Britain and it is our job to protect them. We have every right to protect them and tax them. Why can’t they just pay! It’s a mere 1 cent. Now they’ve created a new kind of money. They had the nerve to create this manuscript they call “The Declaration of independence”. What a stupid name . It states that these colonists deserve independence from Britain because they’re big enough to rule and protect themselves. What a lie. They wouldn’t be able to protect themselves even if they had a 1000 men. But this Declaration of Independence, it disgraces the name of King George the III. King George the III is a great leader and those colonists respect him as if he is a pest. A king leads you and he provides justice. He should be an idol to Britishers and colonists. But no, the colonist won’t understand that the King makes laws to help them. If he doesn’t make a law , the parliament does. He has picked trusted men like the Earl of Bute to help rule the country. They have passed the stamp act for the colonists own good. The King is fair and the colonists abuse him. Will they ever learn?

Sincerely
Sir William Percy Wyndham

International News

Thankfully, we are now free from Britain’s rule. With the help of France, Netherlands, Spain, Russia, and other European countries, we were able to defeat and receive independence from Britain. All of our allies contributed to our freedom.
Our ambassadors were able to convince European countries to come and help us patriots fight, the British . Once persuaded that supporting the patriots was the right thing to do, our comrades sent us money, troops, and supplies. A German soldier named Baron Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben trained our soldiers at Valley Forge. The next spring, when American troops moved out of Valley Forge, they came out as a new army, strong and experienced. Another soldier named Tadeusz Kościuszko helped build defenses to stop the British.

France in particular gave us the most help. They had been helping us pay for the war ever since the French and Indian War. They had been smuggling food to Boston as well after the British closed the Harbor down. They increased there help and sent us troops, guns, gunpowder and even musket balls after our victory at the Battle of Saratoga. The French also helped us in persuading Spain and Netherlands to help us gain independence. A French soldier named Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, marquis de la Fayette attacked the British with his troops at several battles, including the battle of Yorktown.

At the end of the war, Britain has signed the Treaty of Paris with us, the United States. Our leaders were able to persuade the British to grant a vast tracts of land from the Atlantic ocean to the east of Mississippi River.

We are now an independent nation, the United States. We now live free and protect ourselves and our land.

An Interview with Thomas Paine

During my interview with Mr.Paine at his farm in N.Y. , I asked him to tell me a little about himself. He was born in 1737 in Thetford, Norfolk, England. In 1774 he moved to The New World on recommendation from Benjamin Franklin. With his writings (including the widely read pamphlet Common Sense) he convinced many Americans that the colonies no longer needed the British to protect and rule them. He wrote many pamphlets about the revolution and then turned to writing about the French Revolution. Along with the profession of writing he owned a farm in New Rochelle .N.Y. and was an inventor of some very interesting creations.
I asked him a few questions about his life and his involvement in the American revolution.

Journalist Rustus: What influenced you to write and express your feelings and thoughts about the Revolutionary War?

Paine: I first started to develop views on justice as a child when I heard a mob jeering and attacking people who had been punished. My Quaker father had an impact on my perspective of being just and lawful. My thoughts on the American Revolution were influenced mainly by the French writer Voltaire, the British philosopher John Locke, The Religious Society of Friends (a Quaker organization), and the French philosopher Charles de Secondat Montesquieu.

Journalist Rustus: Why did you write about the revolution(s) when you knew you might have been arrested?

Paine: I knew I might have been arrested or even executed for my writings, but accepted the fact and continued to write. It was only fair that the Americans, and the French should receive freedom and/or justice. I was arrested for my thoughts on the revolutions, and put into prison. I had a narrow escape. A guard had been marking the cell doors of those who were to killed with chalk and didn’t notice that my door was open. When the officers came to take the men who were to be terminated, my chalk mark was hidden from them. Luckily, I survived the rest of my imprisonment and was set free.

Journalist Rustus: What were your inventions?

Paine: I had received a patent in England to build a single span bridge in London. I also developed a smokeless candle - It was one of my favorite inventions. But the work I’m most proud of is the steam engines that I worked on. They weren’t very successful, but the sheer idea was ingenious. Steam engines weren’t used until the 1800s. Thomas Edison used some of my ideas to create widely used products like the light bulb .

Journalist Rustus: How many books/pamphlets did you write? What were they about?

Paine: I wrote 6 manuscripts: Common Sense ( I intended for it to be Plain Truth), The American Crisis (a set of 16 pamphlets), The Rights of Man, The Age of Reason, Agrarian Justice, and Letter to Washington. Common Sense was a pamphlet stating that the Americans were strong enough to rule themselves. The American Crisis was also about the American Revolution reinforcing the American revolution.
The Rights of Man was a book that told people how to be just and find happiness in being fair. Later, I wrote Age of Reason for the French while in prison. I also wrote Agrarian Justice for the French revolution. My last piece of writing was Letter to Washington. I wrote to Washington criticizing his choice of government. He chose a federal government for the new states. He let each state create their own laws and have one person rule over them for a time period of four years. The states would have a common army ,but they would rule themselves with help from their leader and the congress .

Journalist Rustus: What was your greatest achievement?

Paine: I felt that Common Sense was my greatest achievement because it was the most powerful pamphlet I wrote. The other manuscripts I wrote did well but didn’t deliver their purpose as well as Common Sense. Common Sense delivered my opinion as I wanted and persuaded many people to rule in favor of the patriots. Common Sense inspired and influenced many people like Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln.

Journalist Rustus: If you stayed back in Britain, Would you still write for the Americans’ freedom?

Paine: Of course I would. The colonists deserved to receive independence from Britain. They were mature enough to rule over themselves. They could have their own government while Britain provided currency and had their companies produce goods They could have plants in the colonies and it would still be Britain. Britain had no need to tax colonists. The least they could do would be to have a representative in the parliament. Even if I was still in Britain, I would agree with the Patriots. Just because the rest of the country is fighting against the Americans doesn’t mean I should submit to the injustice that was happening. I sided on the side of the French revolution that was fair and honest. It’s simple. The British were being unjust and needed to change to prepare to lose America.

Journalist Rustus: What were your thoughts on Napoleon?

Paine: When I first had a meeting with him, I admired him, because he claimed that every night he slept with a copy of The Rights of Man underneath his pillow. But my admiration for Napoleon soon turned to condemnation as I saw Napoleon become a dictator. I called him “the completest charlatan that ever existed.”

Journalist Rustus: What did you do with the money that you earned from selling your books?

Paine: I decided to donate my profits to the continental army . I gave them some winter clothes and mittens to lighten their spirits during the harsh winters that they braved. I had no use for the money anyways, though I did keep some for myself to help with the farm.

Journalist Rustus: What did you did before you came to America?

Paine: When I was thirteen, I became an apprentice to my father as a corset maker. Unfortunately, my father found me unworthy of being a master corset-maker.. Towards the end of my teen years, I enlisted as a privateer. Shortly after, I left the job to become a master corset-maker. In 1761 I became a special member of the Thetford council.. Then in 1762 I became an excise officer in Grantham, Lincolnshire . I was transfered to a job where I inspected foreign goods, but Found it to be a bore. I wrote to the Board of excise to be reinstated. While waiting for a reply from the board, I became a stay-maker, a servant, and an ordained minister and preacher of church. While at my post as an excise officer , I was assigned to a post in Grampound and was then asked to be moved to a spot for a schoolteacher. After teaching for a year,I returned to my spot as an excise officer. I wrote a book called The case of the officers of excise. Then I moved to the Colonies and it all changed.

Journalist Rustus: Did you ever get sick ?

Paine: I did fall ill once when I was coming to America. The water on the ship that came here was so infected with germs that five people died of typhoid fever on the way. It took Benjamin Franklin’s physician six weeks to get me better.

Journalist Rustus: Where did you go on your Trips?

Thomas Paine: I moved many times in England before I came to the colonies. When I came To the new world, I went to New Rochelle,N.Y. where I stayed till I went back to England. From there I journeyed to France and finally came back to America in 1802.
JournalistRustus : And you stayed here in New Rochelle since?

Paine: My house was here in New Rochelle, so when I came back from France, I went back to living on my farm. I have never moved since.

Thomas Paine died on June, 8 1809 in Greenwich Village, New York City, N.y. before we could publish this edition. He died of poverty. Mr.Paine was a great writer and influenced many. So when you think of the forefathers of the Revolution, you can think of him.

A joke too far for comfort

You know those times when there's a person who's is always angry. There's always a person who is always mad, always argues, and always blames you for the fault of there selves.
